REFUGIN 3rd KCE Budapest

The third and final Knowledge Consolidation Event (KCE) of the REFUGIN project was recently held in Budapest, Hungary, from the 8th to 10th of April, marking an important milestone in the project.

Over the course of three days,this final training event gathered educational and civic professionals from eight countries, creating a vibrant space for sharing experiences and strengthening efforts to support the integration of youth in refugee-like situations.

The event fostered meaningful cross-border dialogue and collaboration, covering a range of key topics and achieving  powerful conclusions, including:

Intercultural exchange should be encouraged through the creation of safe, inclusive spaces that promote open dialogue and authentic connections.

️True understanding grows when moving past stereotypes, focusing on empathy, shared experiences, and mutual respect.

This last training event also included a field visit to the Second Chance Sports Association, a Budapest-based organisation dedicated to promoting social inclusion through sports, particularly fairplay football.  

Major outcome of these training events

Integration is a local effort, which requires cooperative and participatory solutions

To be sucessfull, the beneficiary must be involved in their own integration process

Inclusion should be the ultimate goal, allowing for personal empowerment to lead to self-sufficiency
